Tried to reinstall Mac OS Lion from network recovery that was the version in the recovery , and after it downloaded the software etc and rebooted to install, the computer got stuck at a screen quickly flashing between the Apple logo, prohibitory sign, and folder with a question mark. I have never seen this before.

I tried replacing the HDD cable and it didn't help. I created a high sierra install USB on another computer, reformatted the drive again, tried to install High Sierra, and now it gets stuck at the same place. I am pretty stumped with this. Any ideas? Post navigation Appcleaner.
